i lie in the city the way others lie on the beach. whonyms. fathomless. cold. waving. calm. deadly. surfaces beyond. mapped. who needs oceans? vacations? who needs horizontality to lie? i lie on the lies of myself, am laid by my species’ confusion.
a challenge might be to relax into the lapping of whonyms in the manner of waves. this is a new and exciting proposition, not unthought yet still undone, unbecome. not too difficult if you think about it. if you think about it. if you think. if you body. all i have to do is experience fluxing society as an indifferent inarticulate force, a dark depth that subtly, naturally, almost inexplicably rouses peace in me, a soothing reconciliation with death. there i am, in the happy flotation devices, the poetic sunsets, the dead jellyfish, the kid getting eaten by the shark, the oh henry wrappers and coke cans, the language of everything words of the water the water water the water here i am
it’s been said that what was once human immersion in what was once nature begat what could have been called a healthy insignificance and what is whonym immersion in what is the city begets what is now sometimes called a healthy or unhealthy insignificance or significance. which config depending on something depending on something … but i say my urban lying births a blurring between health and disease, significance and insignificance, in the way (perhaps) the sea blurred with the sky, the sand with the water, i with all or something
and ahab and moby dick like passionate siblings riding the apogees of the sea.
ishmael a wayward plane crashing through the twin towers of volition and ambition, making fire of water, queequeg a rough memory of a dream of love, coffin of freedom.
eyes droplets vision water when i lie on the beach of the city and gaze into the unreflectings i see the unity of eyes and know knowledge stuck in my throat.
pupil sea cornea beach you a tourist appearing like a sprite on the unpolished mirror of my lying seeing
and my vacation costs nothing but a few amerikanos! what innovation! i should get the no belle prizes in peace and all the sciences and literature and economics and a new one in mysticism
big splash big blood big pig big big
